4.28.00 13 DAYS!!! It is almost been two weeks since my last update. But I do have an excuse, I am working on the new website for the Rebellion ANTs, and I must say it will be well laid out. I plan on making it very simple, but I will not sacrifice looks for this simplicity. I am working on ways for it to be very simple to update so that more than one person can update, and not everyone getting confused what is going wrong. The advantages of this are that when ever someone needs to make an announcement or news to report he has more than one person to get it done making it shorter times before updates. I must say though, I do think this will be my last action for Rebellion ANTs. WHAT? I am saying after I get the website done, and I find a replacement for my position I will resign. This is not an offical resignation though, I am just saying I intend to resign. I will leave RA, and go off and work on a website that I have already planned out and intend on making. Just so you know, I have given myself the deadline of the end of May, before I leave on vacation. I am not sure if I will send out anymore Update letters in the meantime or even update the current site, since the deadline is not far away. I will ask now for someone to volunteer temporially to update the website and send out Update letters. That is all...

4.15.00 Well, I am not able to update the site with news because all this week I have been working as head lights for my school's play. I was not able to get online all this week to get any news, and so because of that I will not make a update letter. I will send a letter out telling about the situation. Also since this is my spring break I will be taking my vacation. I will be working hard on the new web layout, but because of this I will not do normal updates. That is not to say I will not update though. What I do need is someone really expierenced in computer art for the internet, expierence in photoshop is what I am talking about or any other drawing program. If you think you are up to it, then contact me and send me a sample of your work. If you want to contribute another way, contact me and tell me what it is you think you can do to help the new web-design.

4.7.00 I updated the Website a day early, today. For the first time in the update letter, this week, I will talk about software. I will give you a look at an upcoming game from Square. Which game will remain secret, but it may not be what you think it is. Also in the Update letter will be a look at the secret Dolphin from Nintendo. Most of it will be speculation and rumors because only Nintendo knows the truth. I would like to request all of you to assist WaSPmetal in the new Newsletter. Without your support it will be merely another piece of mail. Email him and ask for a position on the Newsletter. Your support is greatly appreciated. Well, I am compiling ideas for the new website design and have a small feal of what I want. I won't start working on it until next weekend, so it will be awhile until anyone sees it. And I am going to start an new thing.

4.1.00 Today is April Fools day, but I take my webmastering very serious so there won't be any pranks here. However, my message board posts are all for the fun and I made up some funny stuff. So if you just saw those posts and are coming to the website to confirm it, then April Fools. However, if you haven't seen them, go post now on the board to full someone else. Well now onto real news though. The people at Be, are trying to keep there operating system, BeOS, alive by giving it away for free. You can download it at free.be.com. BeOS is the least supported out the four major operating sytems out there, but it is one of the best. If you have the time to download about a 50mb file, and the hard-drive space for 500mb, then I highly recommend you get this. You'll love just because it is fun to play with. In other news another Gaming System has been announced, Indrema is the company to deliever it too. Never heard of them, well neither have I, but they announced their L600 entertainment center that is suppose to compete with Sony and Microsoft for the living room challenge. It is basically the X-Box, but it runs on the Linux OS. It has the same features as the X-Box, but it doesn't come from the Software giants themselves but an outsider. *Note this is breaking news people and many websites have not heard about it, so the facts about this new gaming system are still unknown. 3.25.00 Very little news this week, not like the last couple of weeks where systems were being launched and/or announced. In my update letter I will talk about the four new systems and what they will offer. So stay tune for that one. Also just because this guy is doing a kick-ass job I am considering him our member of the week. He recruited a couple of guys and while he wasn't doing that he made us a logo which I will display in the Update letter. I have to say there won't be much news and it looks grime. I am justing hoping for Atari to announce the Jaguar 2 so I have something to talk about. Well look forward to the updateletter since the only stuff will be in there. 3.19.00 Well how is it going? Let me start off with PS2 news. It seems that there is a huge problem with the million or so PS2s that have been shipped and sold. This is so huge that it could mean lawsuits against Sony. It seems that the PS2 can play DVDs from any region. Let me explain a little. DVD players are allowed to change their regional settings only a couple of times, this prevents you from playing DVDs from all over the world. The DVD standard is set up this way to be fair to all compaines, and all DVD players are suppose to comply with this standard. But Sony's PS2 apparantly does not comply with the standard since it can change its regional settings as many times as it wants. Sony has not made a recall out yet, but you should expect a recall or a huge lawsuit against Sony. Sony has fixed the problem on the ones they are shipping now, but as I said there are over a million of them out there that have not been fixed. In other news, LucasArts has decided to get into the huge multiplayer market. It will release game next year that is similar to Everquest, no word yet if it will take place in the Episode I time frame. In subcolony news, we have been requested by another gaming club to merge. I don't think it will happen, but we have not reject the offer just yet. Of course we more skeptical this time. Oh and I am going to make a retraction about the X-Box. I reported that it will use an AMD Athlon, but Microsoft changed its mind at the last minute and went will the PIII. It will be a custome made PIII, and the X-Box will run off a Windows kernel. And finally, but the least for that matter the GHz chips. Intel and AMD have both anounced their 1000 MHz chip, aka 1 GHz, but AMD is the first to ship theirs. Now dont just go out and get AMD's because it is first, test have shown that Intel's beat the AMD ones in tests. And in office stuff, like Word, the PIII 800 MHz beats the 1000 MHz Athlon. 3.11.00 It seemed like for a while there was a depression in gaming news, but with the recent release of the PS2, the offical news about Microsoft's X-Box, and GDC past it is safe to say that depression is now over. First in the News is the offical delay of Nintendo's Dolphin, we all saw it coming but the system will only be delay to Q1 of 2001 and won't be delayed in Japan. Now onto newer news, Microsoft's X-Box was offical announced at GDC, and no other than the Great-Dictator of Personal Computers himslef, Bill Gates, gave the keynote address at the conference to talk about Microsoft's X-Box. The suprising news is that the system will be twice as powerful as the best competition right now, Sony's PS2. The X-Box has 64mb of RAM, a 600mhz AMD Athlon, and a NVIDIA graphic chip in it. The X-Box will the first console with a hard-drive, that has several purposes. Now onto subcolony news. I have decided that we need to spread the news around the club better, so I will post my news on the Message Board, the Website, and a Newsletter every weekend from now on. 3.4.00 Big day in Japan today, the release of the Playstation2 went under way, no word yet if any people were injured in the franzy to get one, but I am sure the stores were just as crowded as their subways today. The system there cost ¥39,800 which is about $370 (I used the lasted exchange rate if ¥107.75 per $1). That may sound expensive but you got to remember all the features that come with it. The US won't see the PS2 until about September, but many of those that can't wait can import it for a reasonable price. No on to some more stranger news. DataDyne, you may not have heard of them now, but just wait and you will. They are the company under close eye by many Perfect Dark fans. Why Perfect Dark fans you ask, well it is simple. Perfect Dark is suppose to have a fake company it called Datadyne (you know those big business that try to rule the world), but just recently Datadyne put up a website on the net. This website makes them sound like a legimate company, it also tells what they are about but nothing about what they do, and who they are. It has been rumored that this is a hoax by Nintendo to pull one of the greatest marketing stragies for a game in history, but others claim it is a real company. There is proof for both sides, but head on over to IGN64 to gather the information for yourself and you be the judge, my opinion is that Nintendo knows their business ploys and are pulling a big one. In subcolony News, there is the Three ACTs plan going around the message boards, it will bring order back to the subcolonies and maybe breath some life into them. In my opinion it is a good idea, and it comes at a great time. The summer is when subcolonies start to grow again, because people have more free time. 2.27.00 Well how is everyone, I am doing great. New website design has just been started, and should take awhile since I am working at a snail speed. ZTDV reported today that Microsoft, the gaint of the software industry, has purchased the Domain Name www.xbox.com, I wonder if it has anything to do with that secret project they are working on called the X-Box. Also in the news, IGN reported that Nintendo of America is going against Nintendo in Japan's hopes to get the Dolphin out world-wide by the end of this year. Even more suprising is the reported delay of the Game Boy Advance, till next year also. They appear to be delayed till Q3 of 2001, because NOA is doing so well with the N64 and the GBC. No word yet if Nitendo in Japan will allow NOA to delay both projects till next year. That is all... Next Update weekend 03.04.00  ANTLiberty
